A song I used to sing in Sunday school at church, reminds me of my own love for children and why I wanted to grow up to be a teacher.
The line that sticks the most, ” red and yellow, black or white, they are precious in His sight.”
We tend to be a world of selfish peoples, thinking only of ourselves and our own immediate needs and never truly wanting to go out of our way to change the world by each of us sharing love. I mean the kind of love that sees beyond what we have and what we do and what we look like. The kind of love that has the power to change the world.
I recently read an article where a journalist photographed children’s rooms around the world. She photographed the rich as well as the poor. The three things that caught my eye the most were the lack of smiles at all on the children’s faces and the lack of any spark of happiness in their eyes. The look was cold and hopeless, whether rich or poor. The third thing was the responses from the readers and how they judged success by how many meaningless, materialistics things one would have.
What stumbles me and saddens me is how, world-wide, we state that the children our the hope of the future and then we do nothing to offer them hope for that future. We offer them little love and happiness and simply require they learn how to do things regardless of giving love or helping to add happiness. We simply neglect our roles as mentors to show them love and honor and bring happiness to build their hopes and dreams. What kind of a world will we be creating for the future by neglecting our responsibility to share love and hope with the children of today?

There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
Please use in that order.
Bill Cosby has a great way of “distilling”things.
Looks like he’s done it again!
(AMERICA NEEDS A CANDIDATE WITH THIS PLATFORM!!)
I (Bill Cosby) HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT IN THE YEAR 2012.
HERE IS MY PLATFORM:
(1). Any use of the phrase: ‘Press 1 for English’is immediately BANNED!!! English is the official language; speak it or wait outside of our borders until you can.
(2). We will immediately go into a two year isolationist attitude in order to straighten out the greedy big business posture in this country. America will allow NO imports, and we’ll do no exports. We will use the ‘Wal-Mart‘s policy, ‘If we ain’t got it, you don’t need it.’ We’ll make it here and sell it here!
(3). When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it coming in here.
(4). All retired military personnel will be required to man one of the many observation towers located on the southern border of the United States (six month tour). They will be under strict orders notto fire onSOUTH BOUND aliens.
(5). Social Security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn’t put nuttin in, you AIN’T getting nuttin out. Neither the President nor any other politician will be able to touch it.
(6). Welfare. — Checks will be handed out on Fridays, at the end of the 40 hour school week, the successful completion of a urinalysis test for drugs, and passing grades.
(7). Professional Athletes — Steroids? The FIRST time you check positive you’re banned from sports … for life.
(8). Crime — We will adopt the Turkish method, i.e., the firsttime you steal, you lose your right hand. There is no more ‘life sentences’. If convicted of murder, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for the victim you killed: gun, knife, strangulation, etc.
(9). One export of ours will be allowed: wheat; because the world needs to eat. However, a bushel of wheat will be the EXACT price of a barrel of oil.
(10). All foreign aid, using American taxpayer money, will immediately cease and the saved money will help to pay off the national debt and, ultimately, lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we’ll ask The American People if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision as to whether, or not, it’s a worthy cause.
(11). The Pledge of Allegiance will be said EVERY day at school and every day in CONGRESS.
(12). The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.
My apology is offered if I’ve stepped on anyone’s toes …. nevertheless…..
Sincerely, Bill Cosby
A candidate for everyone, no matter which side of the fence they’re on.
When we sit on our laurels dreaming of the day we will do something, be something, go somewhere, find truth, love and beauty… we are dreaming of change. We are unsettled in our present condition and look to step into a different future, whether that future be in the next second, minute, or year, we are looking to place a new paved path before our feet, of our own making. But,… are we really wanting to make our way or wanting the road to already be layed before us?
It is good to dream and good to move forward in that dream, but to make that dream a reality, you have to show you are willing to make the decision and pave the way with each new stone.
Love and many blessings to all of us who choose to work in accordance with what we dream and desire for our lives,
“A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a
new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.”
In 1931, AugustePiccard and Charles Knipfer flew a balloon from Augsburg,Germany, to a glacier near Innsbruck, Austria. Reaching a height of 51,793 feet during their 17-hour flight, they were the first humans to reach the stratosphere. What freedom do you think they felt in accomplishing this task?
In overcoming obstacles and doubts and ridicule from friends or family in their quest to get to where they wanted in their goals, they obtained freedom….freedom from fear…they tried, and tried again and in the end found a place beyond their expectations….
Happy Stratospheric day! …and… think on this:
“The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom isfreedom from fear.”

Did you know… … that today is Greek Philosopher’s Day? Plato, one of the great Greek philosophers and author of The Republic and other books, was born on May 21, 429 B.C. ~~~ Today’s Inspirational Quote: “Apply yourself both now and in the next life. Without effort, you cannot be prosperous. Though the land be good, you cannot have an abundant crop without cultivation.” — Plato
We are all seeking satisfaction, searching for answers to what it is we need to achieve happiness.
In the end we go through a myriad of trials with dizzying spin to find that all we have known and experienced is either no good to begin with or too good to be true and though some might offer fever pitched heights of exultation, we find it is merely temporal. There is always the moment we reach where it discontinues to afford us the luxury of intoxication.
But have you ever wondered, if when something more than “human seeking” is needed, that it is actually you, the seeker, who is being sought?
True seekers eminate the search for a purpose and it shows in their energy and integrity, their idealism and their desire to close in on an answer. We are as C.S. Lewis fashioned a meaning to, as a mouse searching for the hungry cat. We are in fact in search of ourselves being able to face the challeges necessary…the looming and hungry challenges and end result of who we have been called to be. And it is because we as seekers have been spurred by something to cause our quest for meaning, we give off a presence about us which falls in terms of our being “called” to a certain purpose. Like a hunted animal gives off a scent, we have become marked in all our movements to the calling of our being….to the purpose which pursues us.
